Ask your dog to lie “down” on the ground. I have my dog standing in front of me, face to face, using a training leash as usual, I firstly say Sit, then Ricky sits, then I follow with a “down” command, by doing this, I say “down”, and I pull down his front legs gently, of course, I did this when he ’s already in a sit position. Then he lie down there in front of me, I repeated this lesson, until he’s “down” with a command alone, without me touching on his legs.

Actually, it’s not this easy, I had a hard time for a week and it did not work. Until I did it with a different approach, and that is SIT first then Down after, that’s an easier flow of process for Ricky to understand.
